Why does Finn have a bounce in his step? He’s ready to see some live music, dancing, storytelling – and plenty of harps and fiddles. DART with Finn to the North Texas Irish Festival, one of our region’s great yearly events. Among the largest Irish festivals in the U.S., the family-friendly celebration of all things Irish and Celtic takes place March 8-10 at Fair Park. That’s right on DART’s Green Line, appropriately enough, which means you won’t have to park – or drive.

If you need more reasons to go, how about horse shows, sheepherding demonstrations, beer and whiskey tasting, and chef demonstrations? There’s even a colorful Scottish Village for those who trace their Celtic roots to the other side of the Irish Sea. Aye, laddie, now you’re talking! And you have all weekend to check it out.

Skip lines at the ticket vending machine by downloading GoPass®, DART’s mobile ticketing app. You can do a lot more than buy a DART pass – you’ll get trip-planning, next bus and train times, plus a whole bunch of other features. And you’ll never need cash for a ticket again. Get it at the App Store or Google Play.

To help you get in the Irish spirit, keep an eye out for Finn (he’s the jaunty fellow pictured above, of course). All month long, he’ll be taking DARTable adventures, which you can check out here on the blog.

You can spot Finn in real life at the 40th Dallas St. Patricks’ Day Parade & Festival. Snap a picture or take a selfie with him and post it to your favorite social media network with the hashtag #DARTwithFinn.

The North Texas Irish Festival happens Friday evening from 6-11 p.m.; Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Sláinte! (That’s “cheers” in Irish – pronounced slohn-cha.)
