DART plans to temporarily suspend weekend rail service on portions of the Orange Line between Irving Convention Center Station and North Lake College Station in November due to ongoing construction of Irving's new Hidden Ridge Station and related rail maintenance.
Passengers can take shuttle buses between the affected stations and should allow for extra travel time. DART has planned the following weekend closure dates, weather permitting:
Construction on Hidden Ridge Station began in February 2020, and DART plans to complete the station in late 2021.
The new Orange Line station, formally known as Carpenter Ranch Station, is to sit between the North Lake College and Irving Convention Center stations and offer mobility options in the $1.5 billion, 110-acre mixed-use Hidden Ridge development that Verizon Communications Inc. is creating.
The Hidden Ridge development includes Pioneer Natural Resources' new 1.1 million-square-foot headquarters and plans for an additional 1.5 million square feet of offices for corporate tenants, a 200-room full-service hotel, more than 1,000 residential units, 80,000 square feet for restaurant and retail space, a 2-acre park and the new DART station.
