Question:
If I meet the qualifications for a Discount GoPass Tap card, how do I participate in the program if I cannot apply for a card while DARTmart and DART Headquarters are closed?

Answer:
Participants in one of the qualifying programs listed at DART.org/TapForHalf automatically qualify for a Discount GoPass Tap card.

If you qualify for the Discount GoPass Tap card, but have not yet been certified as eligible, please follow these steps until DARTmart reopens.

  1. Purchase a full-fare yellow GoPass Tap card at 7-Eleven stores or other retailers. Keep your receipt for any GoPass Tap card purchased March 29, 2020, or later.

     

  2. You must register your GoPass Tap card at GoPass.org for us to apply the temporary discount. DART cannot issue temporary discounts to unregistered cards.

     

  3. Call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111 option 1 and tell the agent you qualify for the Discount GoPass Tap card. Give the agent the 13-digit card number on the back of your yellow card. DART will apply a temporary half-price discount to that card. This discounted fare will continue until further notice.

     

  4. Once DARTmart reopens, you will have to come to the store and apply in person for the Discount GoPass Tap Card Program. If you do not apply in person for a permanent card by the deadline (to be determined), the discount on your yellow GoPass Tap card will expire. When you arrive at the store:
    • Bring your yellow GoPass Tap card, purchase receipt and proof of participation in one of the qualifying assistance programs.
    • Your photo will be taken and a new white Discount GoPass Tap card will be issued. Any funds from your old yellow card will be transferred to your new white card.
    • DARTmart staff will apply the discount to any full-price fares you paid starting March 29, 2020 and credit your account for any overpaid amounts.
