Moving Cities with Transit and Dance

Jevan Chowdhury, Moving Cities

With its vibrant arts district and the longest light rail system in the country, Dallas caught the attention of British creative director Jevan Chowdhury, whose work juxtaposes cities and transportation with the fluidity of dance.

Chowdhury’s Moving Cities project captures dancers and urban settings from around the world with the use of film and photography.

Last year, Chowdhury partnered with VisitDallas and featured Dallas as one of the project’s first American cities with a short film called Moving Dallas.

“There’s no better time to explore the cultural heart of America,” Chowdhury said in a press release. “Dallas, a mythical city rich in American legend, has accelerated full speed into this century.”

The film – which captured some of DART’s stations, trains and buses and highlighted the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, other dancers and Dallas scenes – gives you an exclusive view of Dallas through cinematography and artistic motion.
