Perk Up! It’s National Coffee Day

Okay, so nobody actually uses a percolator anymore. But coffee culture is going strong, with the average American consuming 6.8 pounds of java per year, and coffeehouses of all kinds dot the urban landscape. Today is National Coffee Day, so some of them may even be offering free cups of joe or other, um, perks.
