Spring is in the air and festival season has arrived. From art to music to food, there are lots of things to discover in North Texas. Best of all, many festivals are easily accessible on DART, so leave your car behind and avoid the stress of parking.

The Evolution of Hip-Hop unfolds at the BOOM 94.5 Music Festival April 30, at Fair Park. Over 20 artists are scheduled to perform at this year’s event, including Master P, Mystikal, Silkk the Shocker, Big Daddy Kane, YoYo, and many others. Take DART’s Green Line to Fair Park Station or MLK, Jr. Station.

On May 7, take DART’s Blue Line to the Downtown Garland Station and celebrate history, culture and fun at the 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo Downtown Festival. There will be live music and a special performance by Garland ISD’s Mariachi Estrellas.

Also on May 7, Plano is celebrating the 13th anniversary of AsiaFest at Haggard Park, a DARTable gem. This community-wide festival is sponsored and produced by Plano’s Asian communities, and showcases the rich cultures of Asia: Japan and Korea in the north; China, Taiwan, and the Philippines to the east; Vietnam and Malaysia in the south; and Bangladesh, India, and Nepal in the southeast. The numerous cultural demonstrations, performances, and vendors will provide a fun and engaging time for your entire family. Take DART’s Red Line to the Downtown Plano Station.
