• Ride (Route 722) to The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located at 2201 N. Field Street to meet the museum’s newest addition at Meet Your Mammoth Day on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In May 2014, a nearly intact and pristine Columbian mammoth (Mammuthus columbi) was discovered in an Ellis County sand pit. Making headlines across the world, the beloved mammoth – affectionately named “Ellie May” – was excavated, prepped and pampered and is now ready for her new home at the Perot Museum. The Museum is celebrating her arrival with “make a mammoth” activities, bookworm readings, mammoth masks, science trivia, mammoth toothpaste demos, Q&A with Perot Museum paleontologist Dr. Ron Tykoski and more for a super-sized day of fun for all ages and interests.
