Rider Insider: DART your way to fun this weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth

• Ride the DART Rail Red Line to Dallas Zoo Station to say farewell to Giants of Jurassic during Labor Day Weekend! Join the Dallas Zoo as they send the dinos off in style before they disappear after September 7. There will be extended Zoo hours and live music both nights on shady Cat Green for an epic last hoorah. Listen to the vocal stylings of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Bluegrass Band on Saturday and the Ray Johnston Band on Sunday. The music kicks off at 7 p.m. Kick back on a blanket or lawn chair, or rent a cabana for your family and friends, while enjoying the food, craft beer, cold soft drinks and wine available for purchase. There will be other special activties both days. The concerts are free with admission to the Zoo. The Dallas Zoo is located at 650 South R.L. Thornton Frwy. Information: dallaszoo.com.

• Ride the DART Rail Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line or Orange Line Saturday to Akard Station for the 5th Annual Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Renaissance Tower, 1201 Elm St. from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants from all over the area are supported by members of the community, coming together for a day of remembrance. Cheer on local first responders as they climb 110 floors to honor the sacrifices of local heroes and those public safety professionals who perished on 9/11/01. Most climbers wear their personal protective equipment. ALL climbers wear the name and picture of the hero they are climbing for. Information: www.dallasstairclimb.com.
