News bits: DART Police aide in capture of man accused of kidnapping

A man accused of kidnapping two women and raping one of them was ultimately detained by DART Police Sunday.

From The Dallas Morning News:

When Garland officers showed up, Tovar drove in reverse for a quarter mile before slamming into a parked car, the officers said. He got out and ran away through an alley, police said. The other woman ran toward the officers for help.

Garland police notified DART police because a station was within blocks. DART police spotted Tovar on a train. He was detained and arrested at the West End station, DART spokesman Mark Ball said.

DART Police handed the suspect off to Dallas Police for arrest and processing. Follow the link below to read the complete report.
