Artwork Feature: The Gambler

The Gambler

The Gambler by William Sylvester Carter. Part of the Kinsey African American Art & History Collection.

View creative pieces like this oil painting by William Sylvester Carter when you ride DART to the Kinsey African American Art & History Collection at the ArtCentre of Plano through Sept. 22.

The exhibition celebrates the artists, writers and activists that made the Harlem Renaissance memorable and significant. The collection, much of it newly acquired, belongs to Bernard Kinsey, an African American and former Xerox employee who paved the way for greater equality in the workplace.

This glimpse into another time and place is a short stroll across Haggard Park from Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line.
