DART to Fireworks!

Kaboom-Crowd-with-water-tower-in-the-background-12200-x-800 Fourth of July is here, with a bang! North Texans have lots of DARTable options. Here are a few: July 3 Addison Kaboom Town is one of the top fireworks displays in the country. There will be an air display at 7:15 p.m. Fireworks follow at 9:30 p.m. at Addison Circle Park, near Addison Transit Center. Buses serving the transit center will be rerouted near the event. The Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration is a spectacular fireworks show in a festival-like setting. It begins at 6:30 p.m. in Farmers Branch Historical Park, a short walk from the Green Line’s Farmers Branch Station. The Plano Community Band’s Patriotic Pops Concert is a yearly tradition at 7 p.m. in Haggard Park, right next to Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line. Celebrate freedom at Red, White and Boom on the Bridge by the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The free event begins at 6 p.m. You can get there on Bus Routes 52 and 59, both departing from Rosa Parks Plaza, near West End Station. July 4 Note: Bus, DART Rail and Dallas Streetcar services will follow a Sunday schedule on July 4. The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) will not operate. Get an early jump on Fourth fun at Rowlett Freedom 5K on Main. Walk or run along Main Street, near Downtown Rowlett Station on the Blue Line, at 7 a.m. Star Spangled Spectacular offers family fun in Garland’s Firewheel Town Center from 4-9 p.m. You can get there by taking the Blue Line to Downtown Garland Station, then catching Bus Route 513. Irving’s Independence Fireworks Show lights up the shores of Lake Carolyn. Celebrate between 6-10 p.m. near Las Colinas Urban Center Station on the Orange Line. Rowlett Fireworks on Main features great music and an amazing fireworks display. The festivities happen 6-10 p.m. at Pecan Grove Park, about a mile from the Blue Line’s Downtown Rowlett Station. Fair Park Fourth is a day of family fun and fireworks at Fair Park. Get there by taking the Green Line to Fair Park or MLK Jr. stations.
