5 Ways DART’s Making It Easier to Attend the State Fair This Year

Let’s get right down to it. Here are five ways DART’s cutting the hassle out of your State Fair travel plans.

1. Direct Access
What’s better than direct access to fun and excitement? Direct access through DART, of course. DART’s Green Line to Fair Park Station takes you right in front of the fairground’s main entrance.

You also can ride the Green Line to MLK, Jr. Station located south of R.B. Cullum Boulevard and convenient to the Gate 6 entrance and the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

2. GoPass℠: An App That Does It All
Simultaneously, purchase your fair ticket and DART pass with a click of a button using DART’s GoPass℠ app. Set up your GoPass℠ account in advance to save time, and when you purchase your fair ticket and DART pass, DON’T activate them until the day you plan to use them. The app is free through Google Play or the App Store.

3. Save Off the Price of Admission
Did we mention you can save $2 off the price of admission when you use the GoPass℠ app to purchase your fair ticket and DART pass? Yeah. Pretty neat.

4. Service Changes with You in Mind
Starting Sept. 26, DART’s helping you navigate to all the fair fun with the following service changes:

  • Extra Green Line trains between Victory and Lawnview stations from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends; all trips will feature 3-car trains.
  • Orange Line extended to Parker Road on all trips, weekdays and weekends.
  • Added Green and Blue line service after 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Extra buses on Routes 60 and 409 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
  • Trinity Railway Express (TRE) will operate on all four Sundays during the fair.

5. DART and the TRE Take You to the Cotton Bowl
Last, but certainly not least, DART and the TRE make it easier to cheer on your favorite team with additional services to three games at the Cotton Bowl during the fair.
The annual Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic featuring Prairie View A&M and Grambling State universities is Saturday, Oct. 1. The AT&T Red River Showdown between the University of Texas Longhorns and the University of Oklahoma Sooners is Saturday, Oct. 8. And, a new matchup takes place on Saturday, Oct. 15, when the Air Force Cadets take on the New Mexico Lobos.

There you have it. With these five ways, your fair adventure is just a DART ride away.
