Notice to Public – March 2017 DART Bus Service Change Proposals

A public hearing on Sept. 6, preceded by a series of community meetings, has been scheduled to receive comments on proposed bus service changes planned for implementation March 13, 2017. Most of the changes involve two major employment centers on the outer edge of the DART Service Area:

  • Legacy, in far northwestern Plano, focusing on companies that have recently relocated to the Legacy West development. Key proposals include extension of current Route 208 from downtown Dallas directly into the corporate campus area, the establishment of express service to and from Parker Road Rail Station, and consolidation of Routes 346 and 348 (other routes serving the area would remain unaffected).
  • The Cypress Waters area in far northwest Dallas, between Irving and Coppell. Improved weekday access between Belt Line Rail Station and Cypress Waters would be accomplished by swapping certain route segments between Bus Routes 500 and 510 during weekday service.

Specific changes for both areas, as well as other systemwide modifications designed to improve on-time performance and balance ridership and service levels, are explained in the “Proposals Detailed” section at found online at

Based on input gathered at the meetings and hearing, the DART Board of Directors will act on these changes in September 2016 and implementation would occur on March 13, 2017. All comments (written or oral) received during these events will be considered in evaluating the proposals.

Hello my name is Barrett and I think there should be a bus route going through ridgebriar and Collins road to a train station because eventually there’s going to be apartments there and people would want to go get on the bus to go to the train station. It should be a 500 route series from city line bush station to Arapaho center station via Collins
