DART to Saturday Activities

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out these June 25 DARTable events:

  • The Bertrand Neighborhood Association’s monthly market brings together the best local entrepreneurs to share their wares with you. Held on the fourth Saturday of every month, you’ll see the community grow each month! Held across from True Lee Baptist Church, the market is set up at the corner of Scyene & Bertrand Ave. (now Robert L. Parish Sr. Ave.). Stop by from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take the Green Line to DART’s Hatcher Station.

  • Slide the City returns for a second year with a giant water slide and block party. Three blocks of Sylvan Avenue will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind 1,000 ft. slip and slide. Kids and adults can grab an inflatable tube (bring one or purchase on site) and speed along the watery slide (don’t worry, there is plenty of padding). The block party will include food, music, vendors and street entertainers. Sliding starts at 9 a.m. at 3480 Sylvan Ave. Take DART bus route 52.

  • The Reunion Lawn Party is back! Come out and enjoy live music, gourmet food trucks, lawn games and The Nodding Donkey beer garden. Admission is free. This Saturday, the Ray Johnston Band is kicking off the event with Hard Nights Day to follow! Bring a lawn chair or blanket, but no outside beverages or dogs will be permitted. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. at the base of the Reunion Tower. Take the Red or Blue Line to Union Station.

  • The Historic Downtown Plano Association presents Movies in the Park in Haggard Park. The free film screenings take place on the last Saturday of each month through August. This Saturday, see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In addition to the film screenings, food trucks will be on site to sell refreshments. There will be a best-dressed costume contest for Star Wars so bring out your best Chewbacca or Kylo-Ren! Star Wars: The Force Awakens is rated PG-13 and may not be suited for young children. The screening begins at 8:00 p.m. Take the Red Line to Downtown Plano Station.
