Former Dallas Mayor Proud of What DART has Done for Region

Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk shares his thoughts on 20 years of DART Rail:

Ron_Kirk_official_portrait.jpgNorth Texas is a hub of economic activity. With a growing number of corporations relocating to our region, our population continues to boom. Our increasingly diverse population demands that we provide choices when it comes to mobility.

Like other great cities, we need a balanced transportation infrastructure that includes rail transit – and thanks to DART, we have just that.

As mayor of Dallas in 1996, I was proud to be at Union Station on a scorching hot June day to mark the debut of DART Rail. I’m more proud than ever about what DART has done for our region and what it will do in the next 20 years. Well done!
