Rowlett gets new brewpub near DART station

Rowlett city officials are welcoming a new business that is just a stone’s throw from a DART station. Bankhead Brewing Co. opens in downtown in early June. Jim Grabenhorst, director of economic development for the city, said it’s a welcome addition.

“Bankhead Brewery furthers our vision for Downtown Rowlett by creating a destination with a unique vibe in a new kind of village center with a pedestrian focus,” Grabenhorst said. “DART’s Downtown Rowlett Station is a key part of creating that village center within a historic transit-oriented development setting.”

The brewery is owned by Kevin Lefere and Ryan Pyle. Lefere is a Michagan expat and self-trained chef. Pyle is an award-winning home brewer from Oklahoma. Read more about their story in Guide Live.
