Rider Insider: Find fun activities this weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth

• Ride the DART Rail Green Line to Downtown Carrollton Station for the 2015 Carrollton Festival at the Switchyard features 3 Doors Down and Fastball. Held on the streets of historic Downtown Carrollton, the festival features live entertainment, interactive games, and free activities such as bungee trampolines and a zip line. Festival hours are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and admission is free. Information: carrolltonfestival.com.

• Ride the DART Rail Green Line to Fair Park Station for the Untapped Festival, a craft beer and music festival, is at Fair Park. At its origin, Untapped was designed by its organizers as an event equally focused on quality music and beer, a balance uncommon at music festivals and rarely found at beer events. The aim is not about the quantity of selection but rather the curating of the best in both craft beer and emerging local and national bands. Untapped Festival will occupy the portion of Fair Park surrounding the Esplanade, extending in front of the Hall of State and wrapping around Centennial Hall, Big Tex Circle and Automotive Building; an iconic and impressive setting in which to enjoy the premiere beer event of the Fall.
