TxDOT CityMAP workshop to address Dallas’ urban core

The Dallas CityMAP project is looking at the urban core and the role the surrounding highway system should play in connecting people and places both along and across these roadway corridors. Part of this project, which is spearheaded by the Texas Department of Transportation, is hosting public workshops to hear feedback about what works and doesn’t within Dallas’ central business district.

Take a look at the video above to see how DART is playing into that conversation. Dallas resident Chris Storm credits public transportation for helping him lose 55 pounds and change his lifestyle, all due to increased walking because he chose to start taking the Trinity Railway Express to work.

Have thoughts about Dallas’ urban core and want to share with the planners at TxDOT? The final CityMAP workshop is tonight at the (very DARTable) African American Museum of Dallas at Fair Park.
