Rider Insider: Find things to do this weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth

Ride the DART Rail Green Line to Fair Park Station or MLK, Jr. Station this weekend for Taste of Dallas. Dozens of Dallas’ top restaurants and food trucks, all in one convenient location, offer tastings from their menus from $1 to $4 dollars. Don’t miss out on the fabulous flavors of the cooking competitions and if VIP is your thing, buy a special ticket to Taste the Difference. Stroll through the huge culinary and exhibitor marketplace inside Fair Park’s automobile building including The Sweet Factory, and much more. Hours are Friday from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. General Admission tickets are on sale at participating local Walgreen’s stores at discounted prices (one day admission $9.00 vs. $12 at the gate). Children 10 years and younger get in free with accompanying parent or guardian. Information: www.tasteofdallas.org.

• Ride the DART Rail Orange Line to Las Colinas Urban Center Station, then a short walk to Williams Square for the 6th Annual Wounded Warrior Half Marathon in Las Colinas. The event will honor our men and women of the military and help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House and Team RWB. In addition to the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon, there will also be a 10K Run and a new 5K run on Saturday. The course start and finish will be around Williams Square with much of the race taking place on the beautiful Campion Trails. A post-race party is planned with food, drink and live music. Food trucks will also be available. The Saturday 5k begins at 9 a.m. with an after race Expo beginning at 10 a.m. On Sunday, the Half Marathon starts at 6:45 a.m. and the 10k starts at 7 a.m. Information: dallasathletesracing.com.
