DART officials were paying close attention to the implosion of the 12-story former ACS/Xerox building in Dallas Sunday. The reason? The building sat 100-feet above DART’s rail tunnel between Cityplace/Uptown and Mockingbird stations.
DART halted service in the tunnels for the implosion and operated bus shuttles between Mockingbird, Cityplace/Uptown and Pearl/Arts District stations as officials inspected the tunnels to make sure no structural damage occurred. The implosion caused minimal vibrations to the nearby properties and complete DART rail service was restored by 9:40 a.m.
