The new DFW Airport Station has been honored as the "Outstanding Engineering Achievement" by Tramways and Urban Transit magazine at its annual Global Light Rail Awards ceremony in London. The station opened in August. In evaluating the project judges said, “In terms of transport integration, this entry shows how far North America has come in terms of light rail development, making Dallas the standard-bearer for US networks.”
